Restaurant Pick and Cheese

A UNIQUE RESTAURANT OF ITS KIND

The first restaurant in the world, of cheeses on a conveyor belt of 40 meters, has arrived in London: It is calledPick and Cheese. It opened in September 2019 at the Seven Dials Market in CoventGarden. So for those who are in the city and are lovers of cheese, I highly recommend a visit.

AN EMBARRASSMENT OF CHOICE

The various dishes that run on the conveyor belt are coded by colours, to represent price and are covered by a cloche Prices rang from £2.95 for a Mayfiel cheese from East Sussex (served with onions and roasted garlic) to £6.10 for the bresaola dish. The restaurant highlights 25 UK cheeses and charcuterie, served with various combinations – such as cottage cheese with sherry cherries or coolea cheese.

NOT ONLY CHEESES

In addition to cheese, the restaurant also offers a wine list that is focused on organic vineyards. The desserts are also themed – there is a flavoured ice cream that uses Bigod brie and Beauvale Blue.
When you have finished the meal, the waiter will clear up and check the quantity, and the colour of the dishes you have consumed.
I have been there and I truly loved the idea – The only thing, for us Italians, is the bread… Although it is an important component, it is not included as standard and is classed as an additional item. As an alternative, they do provide bottomless cheese crackers.
For those who are in the city, don’t wait to try this globally unique restaurant (while it is still unique).
